• 49 years’ experience in the maritime industry
• Served in world-wide trades (general cargo, container, tanker and cruise ships) in all ranks from cadet to ship’s captain
• 30 years in various Queensland ports serving as:
  • Pilot,
  • Harbour Master, and
  • Regional Harbour Master (responsible for 9 ports)
• 12 years’ experience working in the UN Maritime Agency (IMO)
• Experience in designing ports
• Expertise in developing safety management systems for ship operations
• Expertise in precision navigation
• Expertise in developing pilotage methodologies for high-risk operations
• Expertise in developing training programs for pilots and senior ships’ officers
